Hampton, VA -- The Hampton Roads Youth Foundation (HRYF) in partnership with the Central Loudoun Youth Football League, Inc (CLYFL) donated approximately $50,000 worth of youth football equipment (e.g., helmets, shoulder pads, etc.) to the Boys & Girls Club of the Virginia Peninsula. Kevin Knight, CLYFL Board member, who grew up in Hampton and now resides in Loudoun County, VA kindly agreed to donate helmets and shoulder pads less than 2 years old from his youth football league. Kevin has been a volunteer at the Peninsula All-Star Football Camp since its inception in 1996 and is a former HRYF Board Member.

“This donation represents the type of relationship HRYF has created with other organizations to assist young people in the Hampton Roads community,” said Vernon Lee, Jr., Vice Chairman, HRYF. “We are very grateful to Kevin and Central Loudoun Youth Football League for their donation and look forward to working with them in the future. Hopefully, others will be inspired by this donation to also support Boys and Girls Clubs in their local communities.”

“We are really appreciative of the equipment donated by HRYF and CLYFL to our Boys and Girls Club. This equipment will allow more kids the opportunity to play football and not be influenced by negativity in their community,” said James “Poo” Johnson, Senior Vice President of Club Development & Community Relations. “We have a number of successful college and NFL players from our area that many of our youth inspire to become. This donation will allow them an opportunity to play football and pursue their dreams.”
